While Tingvall Trio may call Germany home, the three musicians all come from very different backgrounds.  The group leader, Martin Tingvall (piano), comes from Sweden, while Omar Rodriguez Calvo (bass) is cuban and Jurgen Spiegel (drums) is German.  But, as Calvo says, “Our music comes from three very different personalities, but in the end we become one: Music!”
Tingvall Trio’s latest album, simply entitled “Beat,” is a terse symbol for the time signatures that have fueled Tingvall Trio on its way: catchy melodies, brilliant ensemble playing, no inhibitions about rubbing shoulders with popular music.
This is Tingvall Trio’s first time performing at Bohemia JazzFest.
