CAMANE QUARTET (POR)
Camané - legendary Fado singer and the winner of the 'Grande Noite do Fado', captivates audiences with his smooth and soulful voice for over three decades. He has become one of the most exceptional voices on the Fado scene today and performs around the world.
Fado (which means “fate”) is a music genre entwining Portuguese song with tinges of Arabic music and it became the national style of Portugal under the dictatorship that ended in 1974. The essential fado instrument is the guitarra portuguesa, a long-necked, teardrop-shaped, steel-strung 12-string guitar.
The British music critic David Bret describes him as "The greatest fadista since Amalia Rodrigues and Maria da Fé". This performance will be Camané’s debut in the Czech Republic.
Camané - singer
José Manuel Neto - portuguese guitar
Carlos Manuel Proença - Fado guitar
Paulo Paz - double bass
