Bohemia JazzFest is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, and throughout that time it has shown us each year that jazz is definitely not a genre meant only for a narrow group of people. On the contrary. It is music that is incredibly colorful, vibrant, imaginative, and full of emotion. It can be enjoyed anywhere – in town squares, gardens, or under the open sky. And that’s exactly why it’s such a great honor for us that the festival is once again coming to Hluboká nad Vltavou and Prachatice.
I’ll admit, I’m not exactly a music expert. But as regional governor, I’m happy when I see people pause for a moment, listen to great music, and maybe even forget their everyday worries. And when I later read about the event – and therefore also about South Bohemia – in The New York Times or The Wall Street Journal, I’m proud that Rudy Linka has carried the name of our region across the ocean.
I’d like to thank everyone who supports Bohemia JazzFest and helps organize it. To you, South Bohemians and visitors to our region, I wish a wonderful cultural experience and pleasant summer evenings with jazz!
